Homeschool resource in Canada:  Advice and homeschool support organizations in Canada

Amazon used books:  The original used bookseller.  Believe it or not, this is the product Amazon started with!

Real Science 4 Kids:  A science curriculum written by a scientist and a former homeschool Mom.  We loved the experiments!

ABE books:  I love ABE books, the largest online book seller after Amazon.  They often have books that are out of print.

Best Ed Lessons:  This is a comprehensive educational lesson site for multiple topics and grade levels.  I really like the way the author categorizes the links to it’s easy to find what interests you.

Mom’s Math and Other Educational Software (free):  Software for teaching and reinforcing Math concepts and other educational software.  Using Mom’s Math, my 5 year old worked his way up to solving equations with one variable.  It’s that fun!

Singapore Math:  Many in the Science, Technology, and Math fields recommend Singapore Math.  A warning though- this is method is not taught in US schools, so it would be hard to transition from this method to a classroom method.

Saxon Math: While this is a standard math curriculum, it does track with many schools.  It uses a circular approach to learning in that it circles back and reinforces concepts already learned.

You Can Teach Your Child Successfully: Grades 4-8 2nd ed. Edition:  My favorite homeschool resource.  Ruth Beechick gives practical advice on what you should teach your child.

Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons:  We used this to teach our two sons to read and it was very effective.

The Khan Academy:  I have not used the Khan Academy, but it is a free resource for learning.

Duolingo: I have used Duolingo to learn languages before traveling to a country.  It is free up to a point and then there is a charge

Grasshopper:  This is an app you download on your phone or tablet and introduces the basic concepts of programming.
